Job Title: Life Skills Educator / Caseworker
Program: Project Independence
Location: 591 Lakehurst Road, Toms River New Jersey
Position Type: Part time 10 hours
Job Description/Summary
The Part Time Case Manager/Life Skills Educator is responsible for maintaining a caseload of up to 8 consumers a month. The position is a field position with bimonthly home visits mandatory. The Case Manager will assist consumers with finding and maintaining their apartments, teaching the necessary life skills, and coordinating needed services for the consumer. The position is up to 10 hours per week and travel is mandatory throughout Ocean County.
Flexibility is necessary. Evening hours are required. Travel daily throughout Ocean County. Completes notes daily.
Responsibilities
- Maintains individual caseload;
- Makes home visits bimonthly in person;
- Assists with finding apartments for consumers
- Teaches life skills to all consumers on an individual basis using provided curriculum;
- Transports consumers as needed;
Competencies
Team player along with independent decision making skills. Experience working with adolescents/young adults. Proficiency with written and verbal skills.
Qualifications
- Education Bachelors Degree in Social Work or a related field
- License Driver's license in good standing
- Knowledge of Ocean County
