What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver-Browns Valley, MN position at Preferred Capital Management?
Summary:
The livestock/feed truck driver is responsible for ensuring accurate, safe and timely delivery of animals or feed/ingredients while staying compliant with all Department of Transportation regulations. This job will consist of approximately 75% wean/feeder pig movement and 25% hauling feed/ingredients. Occasional hog market loads may be added to this position. This position is based out of Browns Valley, MN but consists of driving to Eastern SD, Central MN and surrounding areas.
Job Duties:
· Provide safe and accurate delivery of animals to the appropriate sites
· Perform vehicle care and maintenance and report any repairs that need to be made
· Respect and care for the truck, trailer and any equipment in the unit you are assigned to
· Respect and care of all animals at all times
· Maintain a clean semi-truck
· Wash livestock trailer per standards set by management
· Follow all safety rules and safe driving and loading habits
· Be courteous on the road
· Respect the owner’s property and equipment
Required Skills/Experience:
· CDL required, trucking experience preferred
· Experience loading/unloading and transporting pigs is a plus
· Must be reliable and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently
· Must have a clean driving record
Physical Demands:
· Ability to work in high noise level environments at times that may require hearing protection
· Ability to follow directions and navigate maps
· Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods of time
· This individual must be capable of walking, climbing, bending, repetitive motions and lifting weight of up to 100 pounds
