Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Unit Manager to oversee the operations of our healthcare unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care while managing staff and resources effectively. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the unit, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Manage and support nursing staff, providing guidance on patient care practices, including dementia care and medication administration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Oversee the administration of treatments and medications, ensuring accuracy in medication administration protocols.
- Conduct physical examinations and assessments to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Ensure proper specimen collection processing in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain effective communication with patients' families regarding care plans and progress.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on best practices, including neonatal ventilator management and toddler care.
- Monitor unit performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Skills
- Must have an LPN or RN License in the state in NJ
- Strong knowledge of home care practices, including dementia care techniques.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology procedures and neonatal ventilator operation is preferred.
- Proficient in medication administration protocols and specimen collection processing.
- Ability to conduct thorough physical examinations and understand anatomy knowledge relevant to patient care.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage staff and engage with patients.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
