Preferred Supports is seeking to hire for a unique job coach position located in Zeeland, MI. In this role, you will provide support and training for assigned consumers at their production worksite. Will include hands-on work to assist a consumer with work pace and quality. Emphasis is on consumer learning and retaining employability skills and information to prepare for future independent work in the community. Must ensure product quality by inspecting consumer-built assemblies. Provide supports for consumers including safety, social, behavior, and work skills. Act as an advocate for assigned consumers in order to achieve their highest level of independence.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain confidentiality and consumer rights throughout all activities and assignments.
2. Respect the individual dignity, rights, and privacy of each client.
3. Develop positive rapport with assigned consumers by learning about their interests, skills, and abilities.
4. Maintain a professional demeanor, with a focus on advocacy, respect and demonstrating a strong work ethic
5. Track individual consumer productivity and maintain documentation
6. Prepare workspace for consumers
7. Verify consumer assembled products conform to specifications
8. Monitor consumer production techniques for adherence to established work instructions
9. Maintain a working knowledge of all products and work instructions in order to train consumers
10. Develop and complete task analysis, training plans, and job coaching reports accurately and timely.
11. Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers and co-workers to assure support of client/employee
12. Communicate in a professional, timely manner all information, concerns, and emergencies to team members.
13. Attendance and participation in all assigned training, and team meetings as requested.
14. Creatively problem-solve, prioritize and plan with the team to assure follow-through of schedules.
15. Complete necessary and required paperwork.
16. Follow established policies and procedures related to the assigned task
17. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Experience and understanding of people who have developmental/behavioral issues
2. Keen eye for detail
3. Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
4. Good verbal and written communication skills
5. Ability to maintain harmonious relationships.
6. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance
7. High school diploma / Equivalent.
8. Clear criminal record.
9. Ability to learn and pass all required training.
10. TB Test.
