Job Title: Daycare Supervisor
Location: Springfield, Mo.
Department: Recovery Services - Daycare
Employment Type: Full-time
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Job Summary:
The Daycare Supervisor is responsible for providing an educational and trauma informed setting for the children of our clients as well as community members. The Daycare Supervisor ensures that the childcare is running in compliance with state regulations and works seamlessly with the Department of Social Services and other supportive agencies to abide by all licensing standards. The Daycare Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the childcare and provides supervision to the Childcare Assistants. The Daycare Supervisor spends a minimum of 25 hours a week within the classrooms providing educational opportunities for the children and training opportunities for the staff. The Daycare Supervisor provides guidance and education to the parents of the children in the classrooms on a one on one as needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Preferred Family Healthcare and clients served in a positive manner to clients, staff, community agencies, and community members
- Advocate for clients
- Treat all persons served and their families with dignity and respect
- Provide a safe, hazard free environment for children enrolled in childcare
- Provide ongoing interaction with children involved in childcare
- Provide age-appropriate structure and behavior modification in accordance with childcare regulations and agency procedures
- Provide ongoing feedback to parents concerning children’s daily activities
- Assure childcare protocols are being followed in accordance with childcare licensing requirements
- Assist staff with both long- and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives,
- developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy
- Report any suspected abuse or neglect to supervisor
- Attend all required in-service meetings and all required continuing education hours per licensing
- Adhere to all HIPAA and 42 CFR regulations as it relates to client and child confidentiality
- Become familiar with and implement designated curriculum and other childcare curriculum
- Meet all applicable licensing requirements
- Assist with the completion of children’s developmental assessments
- Help guide assistants, aides, trainees, volunteers, and lead teachers in the classroom
- Ensure all staff are following all applicable licensing regulations
- Complete enrollment information with all new families (including obtaining shot records and social security numbers prior to attendance)
- Develop monthly and yearly curriculum
- Supervise all childcare staff
Experience and/or Education Qualifications:
- Must have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or Early Childhood Education, or another related field OR have a CDA in Early Childhood OR minimum of four years working in AOTS childcare setting
- Must have a minimum of twenty-four months working with children in a child-related setting
- Must maintain a Class E driver’s license and valid auto insurance (must provide proof)
- Must have and maintain certification in CPR (adult, child, and infant), First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens
Supervisory Requirements:
- Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all associates.
- Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of services provided.
- Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.
- Involve, as appropriate, all associates in order to achieve goals.
- Effectively communicate to associates any changes and newsworthy events within the department or company to all associates.
- Handle difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individual
- Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.
- Reinforce team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the company.
