Job Summary:
The SART/DVRT Program Coordinator plays a critical role in developing and maintaining a sustainable Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) program. This role aims to improve services for adult and adolescent sexual assault and domestic violence victims through effective interagency collaboration, volunteer management, and comprehensive program oversight. The coordinator ensures that survivors receive the support they need while working to build and maintain a coordinated response system.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Program Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain a sustainable SART/DVRT program to improve services for adult and adolescent sexual assault and domestic violence victims.

  • Interagency Collaboration: Coordinate effective interagency collaboration to generate and maintain a coordinated response team to meet the needs of survivors.

  • Data Collection & Reporting: Collect and report data as required by the program director and funding source.

  • Client File Maintenance: Create and maintain client files.

  • Manual Updates: Maintain an updated SART/DVRT manual.

  • Volunteer Recruitment: In collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator, recruit potential volunteers for the SART/DVRT program.

  • Volunteer Management: Interview potential volunteer candidates for the SART/DVRT program and respond to all inquiries.

  • Training Organization: Organize and provide 40 hours of required training for new volunteers.

  • Volunteer Supervision: Provide direct supervision and shadowing for new volunteers, schedule shifts, and provide ongoing oversight and feedback on job performance.

  • Client Follow-up: Make follow-up phone calls to clients and sexual assault hotline calls.

  • Awareness Campaigns: Coordinate activities for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April) and Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October) in collaboration with the Community Relations and Engagement Manager.

  • Community Networking: Attend community meetings to network and maintain professional relationships.

  • Psycho-Educational Groups: Facilitate psycho-educational groups in the community, at DV shelters, and within the agency.

  • Professional Relationships: Maintain a supportive and professional relationship with all staff, volunteers, and students.

  • Community Needs Assessment: Identify community needs regarding prevention programming.

  • Prevention Programming: Utilize evidence-based programs and implement prevention programming in the community and within the agency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, problem-solve, and work well with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited direction while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and flexible approach to work.

  • Ability to identify and respond to shifting priorities.

  • Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

  • Ability to serve on an on-call, on-scene response team when appropriate.

  • Proficiency in operating a computer and utilizing Google applications.

  • Prefer experience with SART/DVRT and knowledge of best practices.

  • Prefer a proven ability to work with stakeholders from multiple disciplines and develop collaborative relationships.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, preferred; OR

  • Associate Degree and one year of experience in the human services field; OR

  • Three years of experience providing case management and advocacy in a human service organization; OR

  • A survivor of domestic violence and/or sexual assault who has demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working in the field and two years of experience in a human services organization.

  • Must be willing to become SART/DVRT certified within forty-five days of employment.

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background check, including criminal record, driving record, and abuse/neglect check.

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

  • All required training, including Relias Learning, at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

  • Must provide evidence of being free from TB or obtain a TB test within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License within the state of residency and a responsible driving record.

  • Adult and infant CPR certification and completed First Aid training within ninety (90) days of employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive a vehicle, walk, speak, hear, write, observe, and respond physically to visitors and staff in person and on the phone.

  • The employee must be able to handle or feel objects and lift or move materials with hands and arms. This position requires operation of vehicles, office machinery, and telephones, and may occasionally be required to balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
