What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN or PT Hospice RN position at Preferred Hospice?
We are a well-established hospice company looking to add to our growing team!! Preferred Hospice has 5 offices in Missouri serving over 65 counties in the state.
We are currently looking for an RN to function as part of our hospice team serving the Ballwin (St Louis) office. PRN or Part Time status allows you to chose how many hours you work. Schedules are made a week at a time. You can see just 1 or 2 patients a day, or can do a full day with 4 to 6 visits. No requirements for weekends or holidays, but help with on call is a big plus!! Minimal call requirements for part-time nurses.

We are looking for the nurse who exhibits a thorough knowledge of the holistic approach toward patient care and the nursing process that applies to hospice patients and families.
The Hospice Nurse will:
· Assist the patient, family and caregiver in coping with issues related to death and dying.
* Perform head-to-toe assessment and vital sign check on all assigned patients for the day.
· Consult with the physician and other members of the interdisciplinary team for the purpose of assisting them to understand all clinical needs.
· Assist in the development and revision of the hospice plan of care.
· Provide nursing care, symptom management, and emotional support to the patient, family, and caregivers.
· Provide education to the patient, family, and caregivers.
The successful candidate must be currently licensed in the State of Missouri as an RN and live within the service area of the Ballwin office.
We prefer either professional or personal experience in death and grief.

Experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person! We can teach you hospice regulations, medications, and charting. We are looking for nurses who know how to love and provide hands-on care to patients facing a terminal illness.
