Job Duties

- Shall be appointed by the governing body and shall organize and direct the agency’s ongoing administrative functions and administrate the provision of all health services.
- Appoints a Registered Nurse as Director of the Agency to provide general supervision, coordination and direction of the medical, nursing, and other patient services of the program.
- Establishes a formal means of accountability on the part of staff members. Maintains a current organizational chart.
- Insures that appropriate contracts are made.
- Provides ongoing staff orientation and continuing education information on applicable laws, regulations, policies, resource materials and staff development.
- Acts as official liaison between the Board of Directors, the Advisory Group and the Agency staff.
- Ensures the accuracy of public information material and activities.
- Implements effective budgeting and accounting system in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services and other agency personnel.
- Provides procedures and systems of staff communication which ensures coordinated implementation of plans of care and utilization of necessary services to provide comprehensive care.
- Coordinates with the Director of Nursing to employ qualified personnel for the organization to carry out the functions of the organization; provides for initial orientation of all employees, a continuous in-service training program and competent supervision designed to improved patient care and employee efficiency.
- Maintains written service agreements including financial arrangements with other approved providers to ensure appropriate service necessary to meet patient needs.
- Establishes a billing system.
- Promotes sales through personal contact with health care providers and referral sources as well as through judicious advertising.
- Supervises and approves all credit arrangements with patients.
- Maintains current status and collects all delinquent client accounts.
- Participates in local functions relating to health care and maintains continuous contact with the local health community.
- Ensures complete compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding wages, hours and equal opportunity employment.
- Ensures complete compliance with all local, state, and federal laws relating to office operations.
- Evaluates environment and working conditions of field employees, maintains a safety program, monitors safety policies to lessen company liability under Worker’s Compensation Program.
20. Keeps informed regarding competitors’ pricing, services, and marketing strategies.
21. Ensures local compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.
22. Disciplines employees when necessary.
23. Carries out all other duties as assigned by the Governing Body.
24. Contracts an adequate number of qualified personnel to carry out the function of the agency. Responsible for an annual evaluation of the agency’s total program.
25. Files an annual statistical report with the State as required.
26. Coordinates with the Director to maintain an up-to-date policy manual.
27. Allows representatives of the State to survey the Home health Agency and conduct follow-up visits to determine compliance with the rules as required by law.
Work Environment:
- Equipment and Supplies: Prudent and efficient use of routine office supplies and equipment.
- Knowledge and Competency: Must demonstrate basic knowledge of all procedures included in the Administrator job description. Must have the ability to follow instruction from the Board of Directors. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, managers, patients and co-workers.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to read normal typewritten print. May be requested to work weekends, holidays and occasional overtime.
Qualifications:
For individuals that began employment with [company] prior to January 13, 2018
A person who:
- Is a licensed physician;
- Is a registered nurse; or
- Has training and experience in health service administration and at least 1 year of supervisory administrative experience in home health care or a related health care program.
For individuals that begin employment with a Home Health Agency on or after January 13, 2018, a person who:
- Is a licensed physician, a registered nurse, or holds an undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s or Associate Degree); and
- Has experience in health service administration, with at least 1 year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related health care program.
