Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical piping, underground utilities and water/waste water treatment plants. The ability to analyze project requirements and provide accurate cost assessments is crucial in ensuring the financial success of our construction projects by preparing comprehensive estimates and managing costs effectively.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on contract documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Analyze project requirements and collaborate with project managers to develop accurate pricing strategies.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for efficient estimating processes.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to gather quotes and clarify project details.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project.
- Participate in project meetings to provide input on cost control measures and budgeting strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field, with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
- Familiarity with contract documents, project management processes, and cost control methodologies.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in pricing and estimates.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A background in construction site operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
