Preferred Primary Care Physicians (PPCP) is currently recruiting for a full-time Phlebotomist for our office located at : 2000 Oxford Drive, Suite 560, Bethel Park, PA 15102. The ideal candidate must have experience in and be comfortable working with all aspects of a Phlebotomy position, including essentials such as patient data input, as well as having the ability to multi-task in a fast paced working environment. Prior Clinical Phlebotomy experience highly preferred, but new graduates of an accredited phlebotomy program are encouraged to apply. Schedule in Monday-Friday daylight hours.

General Purpose of the Phlebotomist :
The Phlebotomist Serves patients by preparing specimens for laboratory testing; performing screening procedures.
Essential Duties of a Phlebotomist :
- Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log; bringing discrepancies to the attention of unit personnel.
- Verifies patient by reading patient identification.
- Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and fingersticks.
- Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.
- Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed.
- Performs bleeding-times tests by entering results to the computer; notifying pathologist of results falling outside normal ranges.
- Maintains quality results by following department procedures and testing schedule; recording results in the quality-control log; identifying and reporting needed changes.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Education :
A high school diploma or GED is required. Graduate from an accredited school of Phlebotomy. Six (6) months of clinical phlebotomy experience in a medical practice setting preferred, however open to new graduate applicants.
