We provide contract supply chain services to major OEM's and Component Manufacturers within the Aerospace industry.
Our client is a leading OEM manufacturer committed to designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge products in the aerospace industry. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aerospace Quality Engineer to work on a critical project for the next 3 to 6 months.
The opportunity to work on other projects beyond this one will depend upon project needs and on-the-job results on this immediate project.
You will be working full time at our client’s supplier in the Stuart area for the duration of this assignment (3 to 6 months).
It is important that you live within reasonable commuting distance of Stuart, as there will be no allocation for long distance nor overnight travel to the facility.
Job Description:
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective quality control processes and methodologies. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of this project while meeting regulatory and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance standards and processes in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Review engineering specifications, drawings, and other technical documentation to identify quality requirements and ensure they are met.
- Conduct thorough inspections, audits, and tests to assess products and processes, and identify any deviations, non-conformities, or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to provide quality input during the product development process, ensuring design for manufacturability and reliability.
- Lead and participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify the underlying causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern, and provide reports and recommendations to management.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of aerospace quality management systems, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quality engineering within the aerospace manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards, regulations, and processes, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA & DOD requirements.
- Experience with quality control tools and methodologies, such as statistical process control, root cause analysis, and Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and inspection techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate quality-related issues to stakeholders.
