Position Overview :

A Design Estimator at Pref-Tech is responsible for supporting Sales & Design Professionals (SDPs), Inside Sales, and Project Managers in the construction of estimates, drawings, and other documentation for assigned projects based on Preferred Technologies estimation standards.

Work Hours :

Standard workdays and times are Monday Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. At times to complete necessary work, we may work outside of those times. About 80% of the Design Estimator work can be done remotely. The remaining 20% will include in-person activities such as meetings, networking events, etc. Some travel will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Lead, manage and assume accountability for assigned sales projects and sales tasks. Meet regularly with SDPs and Project Managers to determine and prioritize the companys design estimation needs.

Be able to present designs to SDPs, Operations, and to the end user as needed Go on site visits to determine customer needs, with or without SDPs.

Enter high security areas which may require immediate background checks.

Continuously develop design skills & certifications.

Desired Qualifications and Experience :

Bachelors degree preferred

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

At least 2 years of design estimation experience, with preference of those years spent in the general construction and / or specialty trade contracting industries

Experience with REVU20, Bluebeam software

Ability to review and interpret blueprints

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Ability to hold others accountable to completing their assigned tasks, even if they hold positions of greater responsibility

Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools

Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills

Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills

Capacity to work independently and collaboratively

Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy

Must be able to explain design intent on projects assigned to Operations
