What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Web Developer position at Preferred Travel Group?
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Junior Web Developer will assist in developing and documenting websites, fix coding bugs, and implement new features to existing websites. This is a full-time, hourly position. Incumbent will be expected to work 40 hours per week during normal business hours.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Under the close supervision of the Senior Manager, I.T. Development, the Junior Web Developer works with other members of the I.T. Department teams.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Develop, test, implement, and support custom websites with direct supervision.
B. Modify existing websites to take into account changes in system requirements, business requirements, equipment configurations, or inefficiencies based on direction from the IT Development team.
C. Conduct detailed analysis of systems specifications or design mock-ups and assist with creating associated technical and design documentation.
D. Identify, evaluate, and recommend solutions to defined problems.
E. Identify and document procedures for the installation, customization, and maintenance of websites and content management systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Worker characteristics are normally acquired through having:
- Basic knowledge of markup/formatting languages: HTML5, CSS3, JSON, XML, YAML
- Basic knowledge of programming languages: JavaScript
- Basic knowledge of the React.js and Next.js frameworks
- Experience working within and customizing a headless web CMS
- Experience using version control and code repositories: Git, Bitbucket a plus
- Familiar with web libraries/frameworks: jQuery, SASS/LESS, Bootstrap, etc. a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS
This role follows a hybrid working model, with a base out of one of the following Preferred Travel Group office locations: Chicago, IL; Newport Beach, CA; New York, NY; or Washington DC. Associates are generally expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week, allowing for a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working. Remote working conditions will be considered for candidates who are not located near a Preferred Travel Group office. Employee is seated most of the time.

SALARY
$21.63-26.45/hour; actual compensation within this range will be determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise.
