What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager, Group Desk - North America position at Preferred Travel Group?
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Sales Manager, Group Desk is responsible for generation of contracted room revenue from non-managed accounts with distribution of bookings across all Preferred Hotels & Resorts (PH&R) collections as well as across all regions of the world. These efforts are critical to building brand awareness amongst primary corporate, incentive, and third-party meeting planners and corporate decision makers for all PH&R hotel members.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Under the general supervision of the Vice President, Global Group Sales, the Sales Manager, Group Desk works with the Sales Directors, Group Sales, Account Manager Team, Group Sales; the Marketing department, hotel members; and clients.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Generate group performance fee revenues for groups from non-managed Accounts
B. Work as part of the team to achieve Team Goals while also focusing on achievement of Individual tactical and production Goals as directed by the Vice President, Global Group Sales
C. Working in partnership with the Director, Group Sales – Business Development, the Sales Manager, Group Desk will spend a minimum of 20% of work week focused on new business development with an emphasis on Direct End user business
D. Distribute and follow up on qualified leads to meet production goals. Consistent contact & communications with the Hotels and the clients with regard to the status of these leads is imperative.
E. Maintain detailed and timely records of account information within our CRM tool.
F. Proficiency in running reports and working with our data tools like CRM/Power BI
G. Maintain a high level of familiarity with all hotels in the PH&R Collections
H. Support hotels with the assigned geographic territory as directed by the Vice President, Global Group Sales
QUALIFICATIONS
Worker characteristics are normally acquired through the completion of a university degree program in business and/or, hotel management or related hospitality experience; three years of hotel sales experience, ability to conduct and act on thorough industry and company research; basic knowledge of international travel, geography and cultures; ability to build a resourceful network inside and outside of industry; creativity and skill to convey value to the client and end-user; ability to gain trust and respect in a consultative role. Data / reporting, CRM proficiency and time management skills important for success. Ability and history of digging for new business a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This role follows a hybrid working model, with a base out of one of the following Preferred Travel Group office locations: Newport Beach, CA; Chicago, IL; or New York, NY. Associates are generally expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week, allowing for a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working. Office space is beautifully as well as functionally decorated including all required technology tools. Employee is seated most of the time.
REQUIRED TRAINING
1. Orientation Training
2. Training on all systems and procedures including CRM, Outlook, and PHGmeetings.com.
3. Hotel familiarization training.

Salary range: $70,000-85,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise.
