Position Overview: Preferred Medical Group is seeking a skilled Medical Billing/Claims Coordinator to join our team. The main responsibility of this role is to oversee the collection of medical insurance claims, challenge claim denials, and ensure prompt reimbursement for our services. Our coordinators will also maintain precise records and communicate effectively with insurance providers to resolve any outstanding issues. This is an in person full time position.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the resolution claims, including initiation of appeals and verification of demographic and insurance information, when needed.
Pursue insurance carriers by placing phone calls, and documenting all work performed, to ensure payments are received as promised by insurance carriers.
Work outstanding accounts on a daily basis to ensure payment of open incidents.
Review Explanation of Benefits received from insurance companies and take appropriate action, including appealing claims that are denied or underpaid, and requesting adjustments from clients.
Communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and internal teams to resolve billing and payment issues
Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in medical billing and collections
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of medical AR/billing on an EMR system, including electronic filing, denials, EOBs, and age-old accounts
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, enthusiastic, and friendly demeanor
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Ability to organize and prioritize workload to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Provide excellent and professional customer service to internal and external customers
