What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at Prefix Corporation?
SUMMARY:
This positions primary responsibilities will make local deliveries to other Prefix locations and/or customers. This position will also be responsible for loading and unloading trucks or vehicles while ensuring all shipments are safe and properly prepared for movement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load items into their assigned vehicle. Secure items in place to ensure no damage is done to any part of the item or vehicle.
- Unload items from vehicles and put away items into proper designated area on the shop floor
- Prepare projects, tools, or any other designated item for shipment and/or storage when needed. Ensure all shipments are properly secured and packaged prior to shipment or storage.
- Maintain a daily driving and maintenance log on vehicle released into their care.
- Other duties as assigned.
The qualified candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. This position requires a valid Michigan Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL-A). issued in their name. This position will be subject to the regulations and standards set by the Department of Transportation, which may include annual reviews of their driving record, random drug testing, etc. Experience with driving a fork lift is preferred, however onsite training/certification will be provided.
This position is scheduled to work 10 hours a day, 5 days a week with occasional overtime when needed.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
