The Import/Export Clerk will be responsible for managing import and export operations, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations, coordinating with suppliers and freight forwarders, and optimizing logistics processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle the necessary documentation for import/export operations (customs bills, certificates of origin, proforma invoices, etc.)
- Coordinate international shipments with freight forwarders, couriers, and customs offices
- Monitor shipment status and ensure timely deliveries
- Ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations of different countries
- Manage relationships with foreign suppliers and customers, supporting commercial negotiations
- Collaborate with the purchasing and logistics departments to optimize import/export flows
- Solve any issues related to shipments or documentation
Required Skills
- 1-year previous experience in import/export or international logistics
- Knowledge of customs regulations and clearance procedures
- Proficiency in management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience with SAP and Salesforce is a plus
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) – Strong written and verbal communication skills is a plus
