What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Automation Scientist position at Prellis Biologics?
Prellis Biologics uses proprietary technology to 3D print lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro antibody libraries and in vitro human lymphnode cocultures for generating antigen-specific B-cells. We are seeking a Laboratory Automation Scientist, CW to play a critical role in establishing and optimizing automated laboratory workflows, integrating them with existing data systems and databases, and ensuring seamless implementation of high-throughput processes. This individual will work closely with scientists and engineers across the company to develop, validate, and maintain automation solutions for various antibody screening, sequencing, and purification workflows.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with company-wide staff to transfer manual processes into robust, automated methods.
- Lead the onboarding and implementation of the Biomek i7 liquid handler, developing and validating protocols and automation methods for various workflows. Evaluate operational efficiency and quality to identify and prioritize process improvements and optimizations.
- Provide technical training and support to laboratory personnel of new automation equipment and processes.
- Support execution of high-throughput workflow needs across the company, including but not limited to sample preparation and inventory, sequencing, and in vitro biochemical and cell-based assays.
- Independently troubleshoot and manage tasks and projects with agility to ensure completion within set timeframes or deadlines.
- Integrate laboratory equipment with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and databases while meticulously documenting all work in an electronic laboratory notebook.
