Job Summary:

As a Lifestyle Director, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of an engaging

activities program, mirroring the diverse interests of the residents. This will include social,

educational, recreational, and spiritual activities. You will be responsible for recruiting,

coordinating, and training volunteers, as well as ensuring employee participation in the activities

program. As a Lifestyle Director, you are a key member of the community's management team.

This role reports directly to the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience working with residents in a long-term care setting is

required.

  • Prior experience in organizing programs and events for older adults is preferred.
  • The ability to connect and establish relationships with older adults is crucial, along with the

desire to work with them.

  • You should possess strong creativity and organizational abilities.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare or service industry is preferable.
  • A clean driving record and the willingness to drive the company vehicle and transport

residents is required.

  • You must be at least 21 years old and have a clean criminal history.
  • A physical examination by a licensed doctor is needed, along with a negative drug screen.
  • The ability to respond promptly in an emergency situation is crucial.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of the Prema Life Enrichment Program for residents, in line

with the Prema philosophy of Person-Centered Lifestyle and resident rights.

  • Design, plan, and participate in daily and weekly Life Enrichment programs.
  • Liaise with the kitchen team regarding food service for special events, provide a list of

absent residents during outings, and coordinate event snacks.

  • Prepare a monthly activities calendar that caters to the diverse interests of the residents

and offers them enriching experiences. Oversee all special events, including holidaycelebrations.

  • Engage community resources and entertainers for various activities and special events.
  • Promote community involvement by encouraging volunteer participation.
  • Use Family and Social History under the Prema Person-Centered Lifestyle objectives to

communicate resident preferences.

  • Arrange monthly resident council meetings for residents to express their ideas, thoughts,

and concerns about their activities.

  • Encourage and assist residents to attend activities they are interested in.
  • Follow each Resident’s Care Plan and notify the Wellness Director of any changes in the

resident's condition.

  • Aid with resident move-ins, welcome new residents, and introduce them to other residents.
  • Assist with meal service and supervise caregiver staff.
  • Maintain a sufficient stock of equipment for regular activities, while adhering to budgetary

guidelines.

  • Organize transportation for routine and special outings as well as medical appointments.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by The Executive Director.
  • Adhere to Prema policies and procedures, training programs, and state and federal

regulations.

  • Secure 24 hours of continuing education in the initial year of employment and 16 hours

annually, thereafter.

  • Maintain CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Review all communication tools daily used in resident care.
  • Communicate residents' needs with caregiver staff and the Executive Director and

Wellness Director as necessary.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with residents and their families.
  • Participate in the Manager-on-Duty rotation.
  • Lead by example, encourage teamwork, promote the Prema philosophy, and provide

ongoing coaching to employees.

  • Adhere to infection control procedures and resident transfer guidelines.
  • Respond to on-the-job injuries following Prema’s policies and procedures.
  • Build relationships in the community to develop and maintain a robust volunteer base.
  • Orient and train volunteers about the residence, the residents, and essential policies.
  • Match volunteers' interests with specific activities to enrich the lives of both residents and

volunteers.

  • Supervise volunteers and provide ongoing support and coaching.
  • Encourage residents' family members to volunteer and participate in residence activities.
  • Train employees to conduct activities and promote resident participation.
  • Regularly acknowledge and appreciate volunteers for their contributions.

Physical Job Demands and Requirements:

  • Assist in the transfer of residents, adhering to proper body mechanics and safety

measures.

  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently kneel, bend, and reach.
  • Sit for up to two hours a day.
  • Frequently support up to 70 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
