PremaTech Advanced Ceramics in Worcester, MA has an immediate opportunity for a D shift (Friday, Saturday and Sunday 5pm-5am) Process Technician at our fast-paced manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the manufacturing of advanced ceramics during the operation of CVD / CVC reactors with the goal of achieving Run Order objectives and customer order requirements. Job Requirements :

  • Experience with hazardous chemicals (acids, solvents)
  • Knowledge in CVD, vacuum, deposition, ceramic, silicon carbide, leak check, graphite, high-temperature processes
  • Forklift operation

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with process improvements and maintenance routines
  • Familiarity with statistical data evaluation for quality assurance

    • Job Responsibilities :

  • Load / unload graphite fixtures and remove deposited SiC material
  • Conduct pre-startup reviews and monitor reactor operations
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibration routines
  • Ensure cleanliness and efficiency of work areas
  • Provide detailed shift reports for seamless transitions

    • Level-Specific Responsibilities and Compensation : In this role you will have the opportunity for career progression, and with that more responsibility and more compensation.

    Level 1 ($20-$25) : Pre-startup testing and performance assessment for safety and monitor reactor and equipment performance during operation.

    Level 2 ($24-$29) : Verify records adhere to quality assurance specifications and compile / evaluate statistical data for product quality / reliability.

    Level 3 ($28-$35) : Test products at specified stages in production for performance characteristics.

    Shift Differential Compensation : $1.90 / hr for D Shift, Overtime after 8 hours per day

    Requirements : Key Competencies :

  • Experience supporting Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) equipment.
  • Knowledge of high temperature vacuum furnace operations
  • Experience with pressure, flow, and temperature control systems and equipment.
  • Materials engineering background and Semiconductor industry experience.
  • Ceramics Experience.

    • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Process Technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Proficient in reading technical documents, schematics, and operating manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented setting.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
