JOB DESCRIPTION: Transportation Manager 

TEAM MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES & DESCRIPTION 

The Transportation Manager at Premier Aggregates is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of the trucking department. This includes ensuring safety compliance, managing fleet profitability, overseeing budget adherence, and executing business strategies. The Trucking Manager plays a key role in maintaining strong relationships with sub-haulers, achieving operational KPIs, and fostering a culture of accountability within the team. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Enforce best practices to maintain a safe work environment. 
• Fleet Profitability & Budget Management: Optimize trucking operations to maximize efficiency and profitability while maintaining budgetary goals. 
• Executing Business Strategy: Implement company strategies to improve fleet operations and support overall business objectives. 
• Sub-Hauler Management: Build and maintain relationships with sub-haulers, ensuring day-to-day needs are met and scaling capacity as needed. 
• KPI Performance: Monitor and manage key trucking metrics, including on-time deliveries, cost efficiency, and driver performance. 
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality. 
• Fleet Maintenance: Ensure trucks and equipment are maintained properly to prevent downtime and extend asset lifespan. 
• Customer Service: Continuously improve service levels, ensuring deliveries meet or exceed customer expectations. 
• Leadership & Team Development: Lead and manage the trucking team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous growth. 

OTHER FUNCTIONS: 

• Maintain a professional appearance while dressing appropriately for the role. 
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required and enforce PPE compliance among team members. 
• Foster a respectful and professional work environment, consistently upholding the company’s core values.
