Duties and Responsibilities
As a Buyer, you will:
- Create and issue purchase orders based on engineering requirements and inventory levels
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm lead times, order status, and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quality, or delivery
- Collaborate with project schedulers, engineers, and shop management to meet customer and project deadlines
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chain performance
- Maintain vendor data, pricing, and part numbers in and out of our ERP system
- Process customer purchase orders for parts only, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment
Experience and Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
- 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
- High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
- ERP experience (Epicor preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience with electrical, MRO, or industrial control components (relays, contactors, VFDs, PLCs, etc.)
