Job Details and Perks for an Automation Engineer:

  • Direct-Hire Role: Full-time, salaried position based in the Greater Orlando, FL area (must reside locally or be open to relocation; relocation assistance is available).
  • Leadership and Autonomy: Report to the Automation Department Manager in PA while managing local projects independently.
  • Flexible Schedule: Monday–Friday hours, with overtime and on-call opportunities to meet client needs.
  • Career Development: Access training, advanced tools, and diverse projects to continually expand your skills.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to PA and GA offices (~30%), as well as client site visits as required.



Key Responsibilities

As an Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Quote, design, implement, test, commission, and evaluate automation system hardware and software systems
  • Program and troubleshoot Rockwell and Siemens PLCs and HMIs
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing expectations and delivering exceptional results
  • Coordinate with internal teams and shop personnel to ensure smooth execution
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)



Experience and Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Automation & Controls Engineering
  • Proficient in PLC and HMI programming, with expertise in Rockwell and Siemens systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail and ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Flexibility to travel (up to 30%) and work on-call as needed



Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and navigate tight spaces
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, and work on the ground as needed
  • Lift up to 25-50 pounds occasionally
  • Use of hands for handling tools and small components
