Key Responsibilities
As an Automation Engineer, you will:
- Quote, design, implement, test, commission, and evaluate automation system hardware and software systems
- Program and troubleshoot Rockwell and Siemens PLCs and HMIs
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing expectations and delivering exceptional results
- Coordinate with internal teams and shop personnel to ensure smooth execution
- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
Experience and Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Automation & Controls Engineering
- Proficient in PLC and HMI programming, with expertise in Rockwell and Siemens systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Attention to detail and ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Flexibility to travel (up to 30%) and work on-call as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and navigate tight spaces
- Ability to crouch, crawl, and work on the ground as needed
- Lift up to 25-50 pounds occasionally
- Use of hands for handling tools and small components
