POSITION: TEAM LEADER
DEPARTMENT: FLAT RECEIVING
LOCATION: SOUTH HILL, VA
FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the Receiving Supervisor, will act as ?working? team leader to help to prioritize and assign work to be completed to ensure smooth workflow.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with assistant supervisor to direct employees and to resolve problems on a timely basis.
Train department personnel in correct procedures for all operations.
Help to prioritize and assign work to be completed under supervisor?s instruction.
Maintain acceptable production rates in accordance with TJG standards.
Work closely with supervisors, as well as other leaders, to promote a clean, safe, and efficient team operation.
Follow standard operating procedures to maximize efficiency.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Follow and maintain all company policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as required.
Overtime is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Excellent computer skills required with Word and Excel experience preferred.
Must possess ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, work effectively and independently and handle confidential information.
Attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills required.
Must be able to work well under pressure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE, CANDIDATES MUST MEET GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS ON THE POSTING BOARD.
