We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 6th Grade Writer's Workshop Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching various writing skills and styles in alignment with the English Language Arts Missouri standards. This role involves collaborating with a team of 6th grade teachers to integrate project-based learning and foster a collaborative classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging writing curriculum that meets Missouri state standards.
- Teach various writing styles, including narrative, persuasive, and informative writing.
- Facilitate a writer's workshop environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Collaborate with fellow 6th grade teachers to design and integrate interdisciplinary projects.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their writing development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement and collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Teaching certification in Elementary Education or English Language Arts.
- Experience teaching writing to middle school students is preferred.
- Strong understanding of project-based learning methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for fostering a love of writing and learning in students.
