Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Support the front office with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and systems is essential.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and X-ray equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience in pediatrics, endodontics, or prosthodontics is a plus.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to patient needs.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient records.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred.
