What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dental Assistant position at Premier Dental Studio of Katy?
We are looking for an RDA to join ur team! Our goal is to find someone who is outgoing, works well with others and has fun on the job! The ideal candidate is someone who likes to communicate with others and feels comfortable speaking to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays - FMS, Pano, CBCT
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Take and record vital signs of patients
- Perform patient assessments and document findings
- Assist with medical coding and documentation
- Provide support to the dental receptionist as needed
- Practice aseptic technique to maintain a clean and safe environment
Experience:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant preferred
- Familiarity with dental systems and procedures
- Knowledge of medical records management, proficiency in taking vital signs and performing patient assessments
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Skills:
- X-Ray: Can accurately take FMX, pano and CBCT
- Systems: Familiarity with dental systems, such as electronic health record software Open Dental, appointment scheduling, and charting on Open Dental
- Medical records: Knowledge of maintaining accurate and organized patient records, including updating medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- HIPAA: Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Patient assessment: Skill in conducting patient assessments, including evaluating oral health conditions, identifying potential issues, and documenting findings by the doctor.
- Medical coding: Proficiency in assigning appropriate dental codes for procedures performed by the dentist for insurance billing purposes.
- Aseptic technique: Knowledge of and adherence to aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and sterile environment during dental procedures.
