Seeking a dedicated and compassionate medical assistant to join our growing company.
***The position would start out part-time ( 25 hours/wk guaranteed) and move to full-time late August/Early September. We are in the process of opening a second location within a 5 mile radius of our current location with an anticipated opening date of mid September 2024.***
The ideal candidate will be apart of our new location and take on role of lead medical assistant.
The dermatology medical assistant will work under the direct supervision of a physician. This role involves multiple responsibilities, including, but not limited to, rooming patients, recording and confirming patient medical history in our electronic medical records system, assisting with skin exams and procedures. Educating patients on pathology results and treatments.
Essential Functions:
Assist provider with patient examinations and procedures.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Anesthesia/inject for procedures.
Setup procedure tray, instruments, and equipment according to instruments.
Prepare path/lab specimens, route to correct lab directed by patients insurance.
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone messages.
Clean and sterilize instruments.
Organize patient flow.
Ordering, sorting, restocking and inventory of all supplies.
Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments and preventative care.
Other duties as assigned.
Bilingual a plus!
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred.
Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems (EMA preferred but not mandatory).
Must possess organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff and patients.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
Excellent customer service skills.
