As a Restaurant Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for exceeding the guests' expectations by providing them with friendly, prompt and attentive service that is tailored to the guests’ preferences. The Host/Hostess will be required to greet incoming and departing guests in a welcoming manner. The right team player will help set the pace of the dining room as you seat the guests in the dining and bar areas while ensuring a smooth handoff to the service staff.
Host/Hostess Responsibilities
- Answer phones within 3 rings and schedule reservations.
- Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods.
- Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed.
- Rotate seating between different stations to ensure even workloads for waitstaff.
- Have complete menu knowledge.
- Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment.
- Greet guests with warm, friendly, inviting smile and body language as soon as they walk in.
Host/Hostess skills
- 1 years customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Open Table system experience preferred.
- Team Leader who looks for ways to help out other employees whenever possible.
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Flexible schedule, particularly for weekends.
- Friendly, open disposition.
- Ability to work 6 hours on your feet at a time.
- Able to give positive feedback and/or constructive criticism.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
