This role focuses on leading a team of tax and assurance professionals dedicated to the construction industry, working closely with business owners and their teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review a wide range of income tax returns, including those for S Corporations, LLCs, C Corporations, and individuals, serving a diverse client base.
- Demonstrate expertise and a strong passion for the construction industry.
- Identify tax planning and consulting opportunities to add value for clients.
- Collaborate with assurance professionals on audits, reviews, and the preparation of financial statements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Provide clear and proactive communication to manage and guide staff assigned to various projects.
- Address and resolve complex accounting and tax issues with a strategic approach.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation or CPA designation strongly preferred).
- 8 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on both tax and a&A services.
- Experience working with clients in the construction industry
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client trust.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.
- Proficiency with tax software and research tools (e.g., CCH, ProSystem fx, etc.).
- Ability to travel to Virginia approximately 3 to 4 times per year
