Our client is seeking a Senior Manager or Director to lead and oversee estate, gift, and trust tax engagements. This remote role is ideal for a highly skilled tax professional seeking to make a significant impact by advising affluent clients on estate and wealth preservation strategies while growing within a leading firm.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage estate, gift, and trust tax engagements, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide high-level tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and their advisors.
- Develop and implement estate and wealth transfer strategies, including trusts, charitable giving, and succession planning.
- Review complex estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, building strong relationships with clients, attorneys, financial advisors, and other key stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and technical excellence.
- Stay informed on changing tax laws and industry trends, proactively advising clients on potential impacts.
- Collaborate with partners and internal teams to drive firm initiatives and enhance service offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation or CPA preferred; JD or LL.M. in Taxation a plus).
- 10 years of experience in estate, gift, and trust tax planning and compliance, preferably in public accounting or a specialized law firm.
- Expertise in estate tax, gift tax, and fiduciary income tax, with a deep understanding of wealth transfer strategies.
- Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations affecting high-net-worth individuals and their estates.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Proven ability to develop business and expand client relationships.
- Proficiency with tax software and research tools (e.g., CCH, ProSystem fx, or similar).
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000
