Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze contracts and negotiate pricing effectively. This role requires proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid, AutoCAD and Bluebeam, as well as a solid understanding of cost control measures within construction projects. The Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are accurately priced and aligned with budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
- Utilize HeavyBid, AutoCAD and Bluebeam software to create detailed estimates and reports.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for accurate pricing.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals that outline project scope, timelines, and pricing structures.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to bidding processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience required.
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- Strong understanding of construction site operations and contract management.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- A background in project management is preferred but not mandatory.
