Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and servicing of low-voltage devices, including fire alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, attention to detail, and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and service fire alarm systems, surveillance cameras, and access control systems at customer locations.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks on low-voltage electrical systems.
- Ensure proper wiring, connection, and configuration of all equipment in compliance with safety standards and local codes.
- Conduct system tests, inspections, and system performance assessments to ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with clients and addressing any concerns or technical issues.
- Maintain detailed service records, including installation reports, maintenance logs, and service history.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, including NFPA, UL, and local electrical codes.
- Assist in system design and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; electrical certification or associate degree in electrical technology preferred.
- Proven experience in installing and servicing low-voltage systems, specifically fire alarms, cameras, and access control systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and low-voltage circuits.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NFPA, UL, NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with advanced fire alarm systems (e.g., addressable panels, mass notification systems).
- Familiarity with IP-based surveillance cameras and access control systems.
- Previous experience in commercial and/or industrial settings.
