Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Primary Medical Assistant to join our team and work directly alongside a Physician Assistant (PA). This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at supporting the PA and ensuring the smooth operation of the office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for checking in and out of the patients, obtaining vital signs, updating medical charts, and providing excellent customer service. The schedule will be Monday through Friday- 7:45 am-4:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Check-in/Check-out: Greet patients, verify their personal and insurance information, and complete the check-in and check-out process of patients.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, height, weight).
- Medical History: Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories, ensuring all relevant information is documented.
- Patient Communication: Answer patient voicemails, address inquiries, or schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
- Assist the PA: during patient exams, if necessary, including preparing the exam room and offering any support required for the patient's care.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain organized patient records and ensure all documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; certification in medical assisting is preferred (e.g., CMA, RMA).
- Previous experience in a medical office setting, preferably as a medical assistant.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical equipment.
- Ability to multitask, work efficiently, and maintain a high level of organization in a fast-paced environment.
