We are seeking a highly skilled, licensed Senior Process Engineer to join a dynamic team in Ames, Iowa. This position is responsible for leading process improvement initiatives, optimizing construction operations, and ensuring efficiency and quality in project execution. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in process engineering within the construction or civil engineering industry and a strong background in Lean Construction methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize construction processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance project quality.
- Analyze construction workflows and apply Lean Construction and Value Stream Mapping techniques to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and support process improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, site supervisors, and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices for construction projects.
- Provide technical support and training to construction teams to ensure adherence to best practices and safety standards.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and equipment to enhance operational performance on job sites.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety guidelines.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to address process-related defects or inefficiencies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on process performance to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- PE License
- 10 years of experience in process engineering within the construction or infrastructure development sector.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Construction, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in construction management software, CAD tools, and data analysis techniques.
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling), project scheduling, and site logistics planning is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.) related to construction processes.
Salary : $120,000 - $160,000
