Role Summary
The Rehabilitation Services Representative is responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks to support the delivery of rehabilitation services. This includes registration activities, insurance verification, and payment collection. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and efficient registration activities, including patient scheduling and demographic data entry
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, explain patient financial liabilities, and collect payments as needed
- Track pre-certification and Medicare Plan of Care Certification, monitoring each patient's ongoing insurance benefits and plan of care
- Perform clerical functions, including photocopying, faxing, and data input
- Assist with report creation, production, and distribution, using BOE and EPIC systems as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare or related field preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years of customer service experience in a hospital or medical office setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and billing processes
Working Conditions
