Job Summary:
We are a small business looking for a reliable and experienced Bookkeeper who can manage our financial records and assist with administrative tasks. Since we do not have an in-house accounting team, this role is essential for keeping our finances organized and ensuring smooth operations. This is a remote position, but occasional in-person meetings will be required to review work and discuss business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and expense tracking
- Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports
- Assist with payroll processing and tax filings
- Organize and maintain digital and physical financial documents
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling, document management, and other business-related tasks
- Communicate regularly with the business owner to review financials and operational needs
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or in a similar financial role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial information clearly
- Prior experience assisting small businesses is a plus
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
