What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician I position at Premier Magnesia?
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with all routine maintenance of Company owned equipment at the manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for following a preventative maintenance schedule, and will be asked to respond to mechanical breakdowns and emergency situations as needed.
Essential Functions
- Perform work on manufacturing systems and processes in timely, safe and efficient manner in order to attain production goals.
- Perform work on support systems and processes and conduct preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Respond to off-shift mechanical problems or emergencies within reasonable time and provide troubleshooting and support as needed.
- Support manufacturing process improvements, provide forklift or material handling support as required.
- Five to seven years of previous industrial maintenance experience or strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Prefer some experience as mill-work, cutting/welding and pipefitting (metal and PVC).
- Must be able to work with mechanical, pneumatic, electronic and electrical (220/440v) systems safely and logically.
- Must be able to build, maintain or service pumps, motors, drives, conveyors, etc.
- Must have basic knowledge of boiler systems, HVAC systems, chillers, and steam generation.
- Must have and be able to be contacted by telephone off hours, weekends or holidays.
- Must maintain forklift certification, and required Safety training and PPE/CGMP Equipment at all times.
- HS Diploma or GED, preferred Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or some form of training in relevant field.
