Phlebotomist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess strong laboratory techniques. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing blood sampling procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice within a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.

Duties

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques to collect blood samples from patients.
• Ensure proper identification of patients prior to blood sampling to maintain accuracy.
• Prepare and label specimens for laboratory analysis according to established protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
• Provide excellent patient service by addressing concerns and ensuring comfort during procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient laboratory operations.
• Document all procedures accurately in accordance with medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
• Assist in training new staff on phlebotomy techniques and patient care practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in phlebotomizing patients in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and blood sampling procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and service.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to blood collection and handling.
• Certification in phlebotomy or related field is a plus but not required.
