Job Summary: The Optometrist will exam the eyes and other parts of the visual system.Responsibilities & Duties:Diagnose and treat visual problems.Manage diseases, injuries and other disorders of the eyes.Prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed.Assist Ophthalmologist as needed.Collaborate with other healthcare providers on continuum of care for patients as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.Participate in best practices and quality initiatives when delivering advanced care. Adhere to ethical standards of conduct as well as applicable state and federal laws.Work collaboratively with all members of the clinical care team and demonstrate respect for all colleagues. Security patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Follow HIPAA protocols.Follow all PMA policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills:Successful completion of a Doctor of Optometry degree program.Licensed as an Optometrist in the State of Pennsylvania. Schedule:Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday (7:30am - 4:00pm) Schedule is subject to change.
