The Supply Chain Specialist (Outside Sales Representative) is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities within assigned territories while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of Premier Packaging’s products and services, enabling the Specialist to provide expert advice to both prospective and existing clients on optimizing packaging solutions within their businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and Sales Development:
- Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, cold calling, and other sales techniques.
- Maintain regular follow-up with leads and referrals in an organized, timely manner.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and sustain high-level client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients understand how Premier Packaging’s products and services can meet their business needs.
- Internal Collaboration:
- Engage with internal teams, including sales support, inventory, and accounting, to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
- Provide regular updates to the Sales Manager on the status of prospects and ongoing projects.
- Performance and Reporting:
- Prepare and present Quarterly Business Review (QBR) reports for key clients, in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
- Track and manage aged inventory, ensuring inventory flow aligns with a 30-day turn cycle.
- Collections Support:
- Assist the accounting department in following up on collections for outstanding payments.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 2 years of college education is preferred.
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of industrial sales or B2B sales experience required, with industry experience in packaging or paper preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, customer relations, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
