Accounts Receivable Clerk
Location: Broomfield CO (100% on site position)
Salary: $20-$26/hour DOE
Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerks to join our Accounting team at various experience levels (Level 1 to Level 4). The AR Clerk will support the management of incoming payments and customer accounts, ensuring that payments are processed accurately and promptly. As you progress through the levels, the complexity of the tasks and responsibilities will increase, along with the level of experience and skills required.
Essential Responsibilities for All Levels:
- Process customer payments and manage accounts receivable transactions.
- Create and distribute invoices to customers.
- Record, verify, and post payments received by the company.
- Maintain and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments.
- Respond to customer inquiries and assist in resolving any discrepancies regarding bills.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.
- Other duties as assigned.
Level-Specific Experience & Responsibilities:
AR Clerk Level 1
Experience Required:
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable transactions and process customer payments.
- Create and distribute invoices to customers.
- Maintain accurate customer records and files.
- Assist in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
- Respond to customer inquiries and assist with resolving discrepancies.
AR Clerk Level 2
Experience Required:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer payments and manage accounts receivable transactions.
- Create and distribute invoices to customers.
- Maintain and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger.
- Respond to customer inquiries and assist with resolving billing discrepancies.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accurate recording of data.
AR Clerk Level 3
Experience Required:
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer accounts and process payments.
- Create and distribute invoices in accordance with company practices.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger and ensure payments are posted accurately.
- Respond to customer inquiries and assist with billing discrepancies.
- Perform detailed financial transactions and assist with financial reporting.
AR Clerk Level 4
Experience Required:
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process incoming payments in compliance with company policies.
- Create and distribute invoices and resolve discrepancies with customers.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are properly posted.
- Communicate with clients to resolve billing discrepancies and follow up on overdue invoices.
- Prepare monthly financial and aging reports.
- Maintain accurate customer and financial records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred).
- Knowledge of accounting principles and applicable laws (preferred).
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong time management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage high-volume transactions and work efficiently.
