CAD Designer
Location: Onsite Export PA
Salary: $45,000-$75,000 per year DOE
Shift/Schedule: Full time Monday - Friday
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and drafting 3D models for automotive aftermarket parts using CAD software. This position will work closely with engineers, product designers, and manufacturing teams to create high-quality designs and assist in product development for various automotive components.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings of aftermarket automotive parts using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks).
- Collaborate with engineers and product designers to ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements.
- Generate accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and assist in the preparation of design documentation.
- Review and troubleshoot design issues, making adjustments as necessary to ensure manufacturability and quality.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to assist in the prototyping and production process.
- Conduct design reviews and assist in the implementation of design changes based on feedback from testing and production teams.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and APG's quality requirements.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, new CAD tools, and technologies to continuously improve design processes and product offerings
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in CAD design, preferably in the automotive aftermarket industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks).
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software and design version control.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A passion for automotive design and performance is a plus.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is preferred.
