Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) to join our healthcare team. This team member will have a 3:2 split between our Port Orange clinic and Deland clinic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics and home health environments. This role involves developing individualized care plans, conducting assessments, and implementing treatment strategies to enhance patient recovery and mobility. The DPT will work closely with patients of all ages, including pediatrics and orthopedics, ensuring comprehensive discharge planning and follow-up care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to determine their physical therapy needs.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient goals.
- Provide hands-on therapy techniques to improve patient mobility and function.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions from therapy to home or other care settings.
- Stay current with medical terminology and best practices in physical therapy.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist.
- Experience in outpatient settings preferred; pediatric experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of orthopedic conditions and treatment approaches.
- Familiarity with home health systems and care plans is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
