Pool Design Consultant Job Description
Reports to: Sales Manager
Purpose: The Pool Design Consultant position is responsible for preparing accurate, highly creative swimming pool design solutions to suit a variety of site conditions and client preferences. The primary focus is on designing uniquely desirable outdoor living spaces. This individual will also focus on the closing of profitable sales opportunities in a timely fashion, while providing the ultimate client experience through a relationship of trust and communication.

Metrics to Measure Results:
Success in this position will be measured by:
1. Closing and follow up rate – close sales and follow up with customers who don’t respond or say no. Be creative in turning no’s to yes’
2. Client Reviews – for delivering on brand promise, expectations, and ability to problem solve with a 4/5 star average
3. Lead Generation – generate organic monthly leads to boost sales
4. Time to Close – close sales within 45 days of initial consultation
Detail Overview of Responsibilities:
1. Effectively uncover client needs and provide compelling solutions :
- Maintain effective use of CamToPlan, OneDrive, PipeDrive, BuildXact, Outlook apps, etc.
- Meet with client to understand objectives, needs, wants, and wishes; quote multiple options
- Communicate with highly effective questions and problem-solving skills
- Provide alternate solutions where required and be open to client preferences
- Maintain the use of practical, buildable solutions
2. Thoroughly perform site assessments
- Visit site to measure existing buildings, features, grades and elevations, and other critical dimensions
- Accurately identify all site data required for properly designing swimming pool areas
- Utilize lot plans, surveys, and interactive online mapping resources to collect additional property information
- Demonstrate strong understanding of building regulations, code and bylaws, regulations and HOA restrictions
- Prepare base plans with all relevant information
3. Efficiently create uniquely desirable, artistic and inspirational pool designs
- Produce artistic, creative, and attractive designs with appropriate layout and flow
- Consider highly value engineered solutions, practical in nature where required
- Demonstrate strong time management and production efficiency throughout creative process
- Demonstrate a high level of diversity and flexibility in design style
4. Assist with marketing and networking efforts to boost business
- Visit trade conferences, interior and exterior design shows, and collect new resources
- Participate in building relationships through networking, peer groups, trade associations, and conferences
- Assist and develop marketing campaigns that will boost business and increase sales volume
- Set time for cold calls, mass emails, door hangers, flyers, contacting realtors for referrals, etc.
5. Provide unmatched customer service to all customers that consists of:
- Contact and confirm leads provided by inside sales within one business day
- Confirm appointments the day prior with all leads and ensure you contact them when you are 30 minutes out
- Provide timely estimates and ensure leads confirm receipt of software generated proposal; ensure all customers SIGN contracts
- Notify project coordinators in Whatsapp when new sales are made for timely invoicing
- Follow up with previous leads weekly, call and ask how we can be more competitive or offer discounts that don’t affect the bottom line offer alternatives and options
- Assist with developing mass emails for customer updates on schedule, material, etc.
6. Demonstrate and maintain a high knowledge of outdoor trends, features, and techniques
- Demonstrate a high working knowledge of swimming pool design trends and specifications
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of all hard and softscape features found within
the landscape, including but not limited to patios, retaining walls, pools and spas, water
features, decks, fencing, etc.
7. Meet Sales Goals
- Sell pool projects and services at approved pricing, that meets or exceeds sales goals
- Participate with sales goal setting and monitoring, and coordinate sales efforts with other
team members to increase market share
- Accurately document all leads and opportunities in company approved CRM system, and
aggressively pursue all proposals in progress
- Maintain awareness of outstanding collections, and advises appropriate parties to
make collection in timely fashion, or according to terms agreed
8. Grow Client Base
- Prospect for new business, building relationships with property owners, developers, and
other purchasers as required to maintain required leads to fill sales pipeline
- Represent company at various events, association meetings, conferences, and shows, for
the purposes of building client relationships and creating leads
- Continuously manage all opportunities in pipeline in a timely manner, as per sales process
- Provide a clear and detailed project handoff via a Post-Sale Checklist completed within 48
hours of sales to Operations Department
- Communicate any customer conflict or complaint with Operations Department, and work to resolve immediately and effectively
- Maintain an average 4/5 in customer satisfaction/reviews

Pay: $75,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
