Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant for a 6 month Contract role based in Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing costs associated with consumer electronics products and services, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and providing insights that drive financial decision-making. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Hybrid Schedule: Mon, Tues, Wed are In-Office/ Thursdays and Fridays are Remote.
6-Month Contract
Duties
- Prepare and maintain general ledger accounting entries related to cost management.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with accounts payable and payroll departments to ensure accurate recording of expenses.
- Utilize Hyperion, Oracle E-Business and Advanced Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Support public accounting audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Develop cost management strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Provide detailed reports on cost analysis to management for strategic planning.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- 5 years of proven experience in general ledger accounting and financial analysis, in a manufacturing / cost environment. Experience in the Consumer Electronics industry is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with GAAP principles and practices is essential.
- Proficiency in Hyperion, Oracle E-Business, and Advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
