Job Summary
The Nursing Department Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the Cardiovascular Operating Room Department, ensuring that all staff members are performing their duties effectively and efficiently. This position requires a strong leader who can manage resources, maintain quality standards, and foster a positive work environment. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of current or very recent FT operating room RN experience in an acute care setting, as well as 3 years of current or very recent FT RN Manager or Supervisor experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor' Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing is required. Masters Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of current or very recent FT operating room RN experience in an acute care setting.
- 3 years of current or very recent FT RN Manager or Supervisor experience.
- Valid State of California (CA) RN License is required.
- Current American Heart Association BLS is required.
- BSN or MSN is required. MSN is preferred.
- CNOR is preferred.
- Prior management experience in a union environment is preferred.
- Previous experience with electronic medical records is required.
- Knowledge of basic life support techniques is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with staff.
