Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various eye conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other vision aids based on patient needs.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the use of prescribed treatments.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
- Assist with sales of optical products, ensuring patients understand their options.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida State Optometry License to practice.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry.
- Familiarity with anatomy and physiology of the eye.
- Proficiency in medical coding related to optometric services is preferred.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex information clearly to patients.
