Position Summary / Purpose

Account managers/coordinators serve as the liaison between three parties - the company, the customer, and the referral source. It is an account manager's responsibility to address customers' and referral needs and concerns as quickly and effectively as possible to develop and maintain strong relationships.

Assist in the coordination, scheduling, and facilitation of the timely and profitable delivery of all services required to rapidly return customer’s property to pre-loss condition. Assist in setting expectations, identifying solutions, and delivering services to the customers and the referral sources.

Schedule is loosely: 3 office days, 2 days making route stops visiting current clients to thank them for their business, and visiting potential referral sources to gain new business.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Client relationships: Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, such as insurance brokers, financial advisers, and other agents
  • Sales: Achieve targets for new business and renewals, and attract new business by identifying opportunities in the local market
  • Customer service: Respond to customer inquiries, help them confirm coverage and premiums, and inform clients of policy or billing changes
  • Claims: Facilitate the claims process between clients and the adjuster, and review and analyze insurance claims
  • Facilitate customer warranty and satisfaction surveys
  • Phone coverage - assist with main line phone coverage on office days, handling the incoming calls and directing to the appropriate team member, scheduling inspections, taking messages, or creating new jobs and dispatching when new emergencies come in.
  • Insurance: Review insurance contracts and policies and advise team members on ramifications
  • Industry: Monitor and analyze changes in the insurance industry
  • Costs: Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve services
  • Reports: Prepare and present reports to referral sources, and/or management
  • Secure client payments
  • Complaints: Resolve customer complaints and disputes
  • Gather all documentation needed for supporting a claim and the team in their endeavors
  • Meet regularly with agents to keep up with industry standards, insurance products, current rates, coverages, insurance policies, and carriers, so you can assist clients, adjusters, executives, and the rest of our service team with understanding and addressing the newest rules and policy updates
  • Events: Plan, Assist, and Attend multiple events throughout the year, both for the insurance industry, other patrons, and for company growth

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain project files
  • Attend company meetings
  • Maintain company vehicle, devices, office space, and promotional merchandise
  • On-Call phones rotation: Assist with phone coverage after hours according to the rotation (usually every 6-7 weeks)
  • During a CAT event (a major weather event) All office and marketing personnel will be shifted to assist in any way possible in the field. You will be advised in advance as much as the weather allows. This is not a regular occurrence.

  • Establishes collaborative relationships among project managers and Insurance groups
  • Coordinates with the team for follow-up and job evaluation with customers
  • Coordinates with customer and administration function for timely collection of project payment

  • Customer Focus – Combines empathy for customer’s situation with time and budget constraints to effectively manage and exceed customer’s expectations.
  • Technology – Regularly uses standard word processing and spreadsheet software tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy of work performed. Effectively uses communication devices and technology to collect, review and forward field activity reporting.

Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED plus three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in the Insurance industry. Bachelors or Associates preferred. P&C License is a big plus.

  • Financial Reports and Budgeting

Understanding of financial reports: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and budgeting. Ability to review completed job costing, assess performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Technical skills

Proficient technical skills, experience and comprehension in the areas of service the company provides.

  • Mathematical skills

Proficient math skills. Able to quickly and effectively translate remaining work into manpower planning, project completion times, and review and assess labor time reporting. Effectively project job costs based on work remaining.

  • Negotiation skills

Wins by creating advocates, not enemies, when negotiating.

  • Computer skills

Demonstrates intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of computers and computer software, especially MS Word, Adobe PDF, Gmail suite, and Excel. Experience with Xactimate software is a plus.

  • Listening skills

Effective in receiving feedback and input from customers and employees, probing for additional information or unspoken issues and providing timely responses.

  • Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

None required for this position - SC Property & Casualty License is preferred. Any IICRC licenses or claims adjusting licenses are a big plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
