Job Overview :
We are seeking a talented and motivated Design Release Engineer to join our Propulsion Systems team in the automotive sector. As a Design Release Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, design, and release of components and systems that play a key role in the propulsion system of our vehicles. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including design, testing, quality, and manufacturing to ensure the successful integration of propulsion technologies into our vehicles.
Key Responsibilities :
- Component Design & Development : Lead the design and development of propulsion system components, including electric motors, inverters, transmissions, and related systems, ensuring alignment with product specifications and performance requirements.
- System Integration : Work closely with the system engineering team to ensure seamless integration of propulsion components into the vehicle architecture, taking into account performance, safety, and durability factors.
- Design Validation & Testing : Develop and execute design validation and verification plans, ensuring that components and systems meet all regulatory and performance standards. This includes collaborating with testing teams and analyzing test results to refine designs.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Management : Oversee the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials for propulsion system components, ensuring all parts are accurately listed and tracked through the product lifecycle.
- Supplier Management : Collaborate with external suppliers to select components, manage quality standards, and ensure timely delivery of parts. Review supplier capabilities, provide technical support, and resolve any supply chain or quality-related issues.
- Release Process : Own the design release process, ensuring timely release of parts and systems for manufacturing, and working with cross-functional teams to address any issues that arise during production.
- Cost and Schedule Management : Monitor the cost and schedule of component development, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for design improvements, cost reductions, and enhanced manufacturability. Continuously monitor and implement best practices in the design and release process.
- Collaboration & Communication : Work effectively with other engineering teams, manufacturing, quality, and program management to ensure smooth development and launch of propulsion systems.
